My gryphon by Cassandra-Leopardess My gryphon by Cassandra-Leopardess
Here is my pet gryphon :D
This is actually a taxidermy piece made from different critters. I used some chicken feet, a rabbit pelt, and..a dead bird I found. The beak and eyes were hand made by me. I also added some shiny things just to make it look pretty :D

Want to see some better close up pics?
Have a look here :) [link]

Those are actually Corella wings, they are related to Cockatoos :) but the bird did die naturally.

Well, Corellas are Cockatoos, even Cockatiels are Cockatoos. ;)
They belong to the white Cockatoos, and there are of course the black ones as well, like the Calyptorhynchus and Palm Cockatoo (and Cockatiel). :) But point taken.

Yes these birds belong to the same family is what I was trying to say :D just like all crows and ravens belong to the corvid family :)

:o Woah...I wish I could get into taxidermy. There's so many beautiful things that bodies can be made into after death. I almost got a taxidermy kit once, but my hobo of a dad was just throwing me a really enticing, believable tease. :( He does that to me a lot.
Very beautiful gryphon, and I love the blue feet and fuzzy tail! :D

Yes there are many possibilities of what you can do with the body
of a dead critter. You can mount it or just keep the pelt, or even
make hybrid creatures like I do.
There are plenty of good tutorials on you-tube on taxidermy :) And
as well as using dead critters you find you can also get frozen mice
from pet stores. Ahh but it’s a shame your dad does not seem
to like it...maybe you can just do it anyway lol!

When I was younger and had some..."undomesticated" ideas, I thought of making a whole freak show of taxidermy creatures, like a chicken and cat or rabbit gryphon or a basilisk from a rooster, a bat, and a snake. Now that I think back, those ideas weren't too bad. Maybe I can afford my own kit someday...

Now that would be so cool :D I have seen some amazing taxidermist
do things like that with their creations. There are still many
creatures that I want to create. Sometimes I just put things together
if I think they will look good.
Hopefully you will be able to try doing some taxidermy soon.

I just posted some more of my work if you want to look.
Yeah even if your dad does not like it, you could always try
going to a taxidermy work shop if there is one near you.
That way he wont have to see you doing taxidermy if he does not
want to =P

look so realistic that it fools people :)
I like making creatures that don’t exist.
If only I could make real live creatures
like that :mwahaha:
